sticky vibes for M

A friend, M, is having a frozen embryo transfer today. She has 3 embryos left from her last fresh cycle, which ended in miscarriage. She is having 2 transferred today. (why yes, only two! that's normal!) Here's hoping they survive the thaw and decide to take up residence in M's uterus for 38 or so weeks!

a switch

Yesterday, I was cooking dinner, as I always do and B was watching some science videos that he has been into.  He has been interested and started learning lots of things about the universe and space.  I can hear the tv and the typical narrator and know what he is watching.  Then, I hear something about an egg being released.  Huh?  When I looked, he was watching something about conception and how the cells begin to divide and form the different parts.  I've never seen this curiosity in him.  I'm excited to see the change in him and his inquisitive nature delve into this subject.  Hopefully this will continue to grow in him as we approach June.  We still haven't heard from D (donor) about his decision.  He said he would let us know in a week, which will be next Tuesday.  I think that if we haven't heard from him by Wednesday, I will send him an email and offer to pay for him to talk to a psychologist or someone about it to help him s...

She's here!

Short version:  Juliet Elise was born 3-3 at 18:18, weighing 7,7!  She's all about the double numbers!  She is doing great!  I'm still having issues with my blood pressure and some pre-e signs-- headache, slightly blurred vision.   The whole story:  I went in on Wednesday night to start Cervidil.  I didn't end up getting it until midnight.  I was able to sleep until about 2 am, when I woke up in pain.  I didn't make much progress over the night, but some.  Dr. came in and broke my water around 9am and placed an internal monitor to measure contractions.  I was having strong regular contractions, so they didn't start pitocin.  I was only at 1.5 cm at that time!  The contractions were getting painful, but I was getting through them.  Around 10:30, I was only at 2cm!   I was told that the anesthesiologist would be in a c-section starting around noon, so if I wanted an epidural, I had to order it before then or wait until after 2pm.  I ended up getting the epi ...
