I don't like all the sadness that has taken over this blog. I am ready for it to end, and I hope that it will. Thanks for sticking with me through it!

Several years ago, I started transferring $200/month into a savings account. It is something that I just ignore. I recently decided to take a peak, and found that it has a decent amount in it! Looks like it is almost enough to cover IVF. I still want to try to save and scrimp to get enough anyway, to help replenish that as soon as possible. I'd really like to try to plan for a March baby and take the rest of the school year off. I'd have to save up an extra 2 month's salary to make that happen! That's a lot! This makes me wonder if we can even afford to have kids! This bonus account really helps.

I wish I could find a good way to make money at home. I'm working on it. Any good ideas?

  1. I think it is just fine that you are showing your sadness here. There is no place in real life that you are able to do this. And I thank you for doing it, as it shows me that I am not the only one going through this bad, bad time. I am sure that you are helping others realize that they are not alone as well.

Do you mean this March or next March? I am so happy that you have almost enough for IVF. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to spend that money on IVF. I know that some bloggers just hate it when people say this...but I will say it anyway. You will be a mom some day. You will be. Now is just your waiting time. The Wait will make it sweeter for you than most mom's will ever know.

  2. awww- don't ever feel bad about getting all your thoughts out there. It helps you, and I am glad I am here to help you through it, and listen. That is why you blog right? Never make excuses or apologies for being you. :) We love you just the way you are!!!

I have no ideas about at home work. I wish I did. I think Dave Ramsey's website has some ideas- check it out!

The extra money is nice huh? I started about a year and a half ago putting 1/3 of each paycheck into savings. It hurt SO MUCH- but I am so thankful I did b/c we were able to put 10% down AND have some left over for IVF. I am still putting that money away for home improvements/furniture/warding off multiple IVFs. :) Once you get used to the money not being there, you kinda forget about it!!!

Good luck. I am being hopeful for a Jan. IVF cycle- but who am I kidding? At this rate I am not going to get unpacked until January. :)

  3. Blogs can be both sand and happy. That is what personal blogs are.

Hubby and I just priced out everything we would need month for a baby and it really doesn't add much to what your normal monthly grocery bills would be. Come up with some sort of budget and see if you will be able to afford it. For now I am just scrimping and saving and hopefully it will help pay for a lot of my ivf and leave some left over for savings. Luckily my insurance covers a lot of the costs.

  4. That's great you've been saving money all this time. I don't have any ideas for making money at home, but good luck.

  5. Don't apologize for being sad... plus, you may feel like your blog is dark and gloomy, but it's not!

That's awesome about your savings -- that's wonderful that you have enough or close enough for IVF! A March 2011 baby would mean IVF in May/June. That enough time so you don't feel rushed into everything!

    Hang in there!
