In preparing for my weekend trip, I started cleaning out an old backpack for the plane.  I reached in and found a necklace that B gave me 7 years ago that I lost 5 years ago.  I decided to wear it to the wedding this Saturday.  I hope it brings us luck.

a switch

Yesterday, I was cooking dinner, as I always do and B was watching some science videos that he has been into.  He has been interested and started learning lots of things about the universe and space.  I can hear the tv and the typical narrator and know what he is watching.  Then, I hear something about an egg being released.  Huh?  When I looked, he was watching something about conception and how the cells begin to divide and form the different parts.  I've never seen this curiosity in him.  I'm excited to see the change in him and his inquisitive nature delve into this subject.  Hopefully this will continue to grow in him as we approach June.  We still haven't heard from D (donor) about his decision.  He said he would let us know in a week, which will be next Tuesday.  I think that if we haven't heard from him by Wednesday, I will send him an email and offer to pay for him to talk to a psychologist or someone about it to help him s...

first check

I had my first monitoring appointment today. They said that my follies were not as big as they had hoped, but that it sometimes happens with people in my age range and they have a growth spurt later. My E2 is 156. I have around 15 follicles growing. They didn't give me exact numbers, but about 10 are in the 7-9mm range, and 5 are in the 4-6mm range. I'll go back on Saturday for a recheck. In the mean time, they're keeping my meds the same- 225 of gonal-f in the morning, and 2 vials of menopur in the evening.   I hope that the follicles grow and get to where they should be.  Yesterday's Menopur was worse than the first day.  There were a few things that were different.  First, I was standing up yesterday, and sitting on Monday.  Second, it was at room temperature yesterday and cold on Monday.  Today I will try cold and sitting.  I notice that I'm getting sore spots on my tummy.  It will make the rest of the days interesting if this continues! ...

Kinda miss boring

Yesterday I spent 6.5 hours at the doctor and at labor and delivery.  I've been having pain on my left side above my hip, and it started getting really bad yesterday.  I called the Dr. and they were able to see me after work.  Dr. thought it was likely something having to do with my kidney, so he sent me to the ER for a renal ultra sound.  They, of course, wouldn't just do it and made me go to L&D first to be monitored.  Baby was doing great and I wasn't having any contractions, so I got to get in line for the ultra sound.  During the scan, the tech couldn't find my right kidney and the left was enlarged and backed up.  Turns out I don't have a right kidney, so the left is working extra right now.  My OB called this morning, after talking to a urologist, saying I needed to go see the urologist today.  The urologist was really concerned with my test results from yesterday, and ordered blood work to check my kidney function.  She doesn't think that I have a ...
